Oh dear! Our skills training system isn’t making the grade (according to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development).
All that effort within our academic education system, and it’s not generating the results that employers desire.
“Poor management has been identified as one of reason we have a productivity problem in this country” (Wow, who knew?)
“UK ranks fourth from the bottom of an EU league table of job-related adult learning” Reassuring, isn’t it?
This stuff isn’t, sadly, on the radar for most teenagers in Britain today. A glance at “A-Level Problems” shows what British teenagers do think about………. the grind of academic work. Imagine how fed up they’d be if they realised the result they are struggling to achieve isn’t always valued by the people they need to employ them. #viciouscircle
